Come celebrate National Public Lands Day on a Rachel Carson National Wildlife Refuge property on Cutts Island in Kittery, Maine where volunteers will be working to enhance habitat for the endangered New England cottontail. Activities for enhancing habitat for New England cottontails will include planting native shrubs, managing invasive species, pruning young trees to promote new growth, and building brush piles to help increase winter survival.
