This October marked the 70th Anniversary of the Fire of '47, a large wildfire that burned much of the state (from Kennebunkport to Bar Harbor) in 1947. On Saturday, November 18th at 7:00pm, the Brick Store Museum presents Town Historian Stephen P. Spofford's presentation on the history of the "Week Maine Burned" at the Kennebunk Town Hall Auditorium at the Brick Store Museum Program Center.
Alongside the lecture will be archival photos of the fire, home film reels, and personal recounts of the events from local citizens.
Tickets: $5 per person, benefiting the Brick Store Museum
Tickets can be purchased at the door, or in advance at the Brick Store Museum at 117 Main Street, Kennebunk.
Before seeing the lecture, make sure to stop by the Brick Store Museum's retrospective exhibition on the Fire of '47!
