Event Description: Wells, ME — Habitat for Humanity York County has completed their 28th home in York County. Celebration and open house is scheduled for Sunday, May 6th at 2:00 pm at 743 Quarry Road in Wells. Following the dedication ceremony, attendees are invited to tour the new energy-efficient three-bedroom home, which was made possible due to generous sponsors, donated materials, volunteer labor, and the dedication and commitment of Charles and Shannon Carter, the new homeowner family. Many area businesses supported the Quarry Road Build through donations of funds, services, materials, or reduced costs. “The passion, commitment and generosity of the community of organizations and individuals came together to make the dream of safe, affordable homeownership a reality for the Carter family. The project has been bittersweet since the passing of Dakota, the family’s 10 year old son, in February due to complications from a rare genetic disorder. We are looking forward to giving Charlie, Shannon and Jordan Carter a warm welcome to Wells and their new home.” said Amy Nucci, Executive Director of Habitat for Humanity of York County. “Our thanks to everyone involved in the Walk to Raise the Roof in Wells and the Quarry Road Build.”
