Railbike Tour Guide – Revolution Rail Company

Revolution Rail Co. Kennebunkport, located at the historic Seashore Trolley Museum, seeks dynamic, energetic people eager to work in the unique outdoor/adventure excursion of railbiking. We are seeking full and part-time weekend staff with immediate availability. Our Guides assist in customer service and provide gracious hospitality; conduct railbike tours that include a presentation of local lore and history; assist with bike maintenance; and are committed to customer comfort and safety.

Ideal candidates have well-honed hospitality skills, are open and eager to learn, enjoy working with the public and supporting them in new experiences, have a strong work ethic, and enjoy working outside. Experience in outdoor excursions is a bonus. There is opportunity for advancement in our rapidly expanding organization.

Responsibilities:

  • ?  Complete daily bike checks before trip departure and provide knowledge.

  • ?  Develop an understanding of customer experience, basic bike maintenance, excursion and

    environmental safety, and online booking systems.

  • ?  Lead groups on railbike tours.

  • ?  Assist in the daily operations of the railbikes.

  • ?  Manage any road crossings on railbike tours.

  • ?  Create a fun, memorable experience for Revolution Rail Co. customers—guides will be asked to

    deliver safety briefings and history talks (will train).

  • ?  Make minor repairs and adjustments to railbikes (will train).

  • ?  Other duties as assigned by your supervisor.

    Requirements:

  • ?  Physical fitness - the ability to lift 50 pounds and pedal a bike.

  • ?  Love nature and being outdoors.

  • ?  Valid Driver's License (preferred).

  • ?  Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • ?  Ability to speak in front of medium/large groups.

  • ?  Work well in a busy and dynamic work environment.
