Young Professionals: Leadership Luncheon Series (04/21/26)

We're excited to host our next Leadership Luncheon for the Young Professionals community!

In this series, you'll get tips and tricks (from local leaders) for aspiring entrepreneurs looking to start their own business as well as those looking to grow within their organizations.

Please join us on Tuesday, April 21 from 12-1PM at Duffy's Tavern & Grill! Tickets are $25 and covers the workshop, networking, a lunch buffet and soft drinks. Pre-registration is required.

Speaker Bios:

Katie Orlando - Katie Orlando is the Executive Director of the New England Electric Railway Historical Society, doing business as the Seashore Trolley Museum in Kennebunkport and the National Streetcar Museum at Lowell (MA), where she has served as the institution's second-ever professional leader since September 2018. Over her tenure, she has overseen a "cultural revolution" within the organization, leading to a 127% increase in museum admissions and raising over $16 million in funding. Other notable accomplishments during her tenure at Seashore so far include significantly enhancing volunteer recruitment and retention, game-changing infrastructure improvements with the addition of several new buildings that add to the guest experience, and sweeping campus clean-up and collection preservation efforts.

Orlando has 20+ years of experience in nonprofit management. Career highlights include over 10 years as a Chief Executive Officer at Big Brothers Big Sisters agencies in Maine, New Hampshire, and Northeast Iowa, over eight years of experience in higher education, and serving as a member of over 20 different nonprofit and service organizations (Rotary, Kiwanis, Jaycees, etc.) boards of directors.

Orlando earned a bachelor’s degree in history and political science from Gettysburg College in Pennsylvania. She currently resides in Old Orchard Beach and enjoys walking in her free time, amassing over 10.2M steps and 4600 miles in 2025 (including 40 marathons and 14 ultramarathons). She’s currently on a 10K+ a day walking streak (walking 6.2 or more miles every day) since December 31, 2024.

Sandy Gilbreath - Sandy Gilbreath holds a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science and Policy from the University of Southern Maine and a Master’s in Policy, Planning, and Management with a concentration in food systems planning from the Edmund S. Muskie School of Public Service. She spent the beginning of her career as an outdoor environmental educator and later continued sharing her love of teaching and food systems as an adjunct instructor in the Food Studies Program at USM.

Prior to joining Kennebunk Land Trust, Sandy held different municipal and nonprofit community planning positions coordinating projects on climate action, environmental sustainability, and long range strategic planning and goal setting.
Throughout her career, Sandy has been guided by a strong environmental ethic, a commitment to community engagement, and a collaborative spirit to bring people together around shared values. She is thrilled to be part of KLT and expand access to and learning about the natural environment. You can find her many weekends at a farmer’s market, on the trail with her dog, or cooking up some favorite foods at her home in Arundel.
