Let’s make it official! Saturday, June 14th is Flag Day – what better day to celebrate patriotism in the garden? Join the Brick Store Museum to play 1940s family board games, family activities, plant your own carrot seeds, take a tour of the Museum’s Victory Garden, and participate in our StoryWalk (featuring “The Carrot Seed” by Ruth Krauss)!
We’ll also be joining in the nationwide celebration of the bicentennial of the Star Spangled banner with the Smithsonian Institution and towns around the nation as part of Raise It Up! Anthem for America. Two hundred years ago, Francis Scott Key, inspired by the sight of the flag’s “broad stripes and bright stars,” penned the lyrics that would become the national anthem. On June 14 at 4:00pm EDT, add your voice to the largest group sing of the national anthem in history. Can you lend your voice to make it into the record books?
