Local professional musicians, violinist Margaret Hopkins and flutist Diana McNulty, will be accompanied by “Maestro” Warren King in a lively and eclectic concert featuring music from every era from classical to contemporary at Christ Church, 6 Dane St. in Kennebunk. The church has parking both across the street and behind the building, and is handicap-accessible from the back lot. Suggested donation is $12 for adults or $8 for seniors and students, or whatever you feel you can manage. Children are welcomed at no charge!
About the Musicians:
Margaret Hopkins:
Margaret Bruziak Hopkins was born in Poland and has played violin since age 7. As a teen she was a member of the Greater Boston Youth Symphony Orchestra and a fiddler with the Polish Dancers of Boston. She received a B.M. in Performance from U. Mass. at Lowell, where she also studied Music Education. She has received extensive Suzuki training at universities throughout, and has performed in Switzerland, Israel, England, Scotland, Wales, and Canada, as well as her native Poland and the United States. Ms. Hopkins teaches violin at schools in Saco and Old Orchard Beach, as well as Portland Conservatory of Music and at her private home-based studio. She performs with Portsmouth Symphony, Lakes Region Symphony Orchestra, New Hampshire Music Festival, Maine Pro Musica, and PORTopera.
Diana McNulty:
Diana McNulty is a recording artist and freelance performer from Arundel. She received her Bachelor of Music from the UMaine School of Performing Arts, and is a member of Pi Kappa Lambda, the National Music Honor Society. Her debut album “Summer Skies,” released earlier this year, is available at www.dianamcnulty.com
Warren King:
“The Maestro”, Warren King, earned a Bachelor's degree in Music Education from Lowell State University in Massachusetts. He has been an active church musician, accomplished at both piano and organ, since his teens. Currently he is Music Director at Christ Church in Kennebunk, accompanying worship services and leading the choir, as well as providing music for weddings and funerals as needed.
