The High Kings

The High Kings, consisting of Finbarr Clancy, Darren Holden, Brian Dunphy, and Paul O’Brien, came together in 2007 to form a new Irish ballad group specializing in traditional Irish music. Their harmonious blend of voices and proficiency in playing 13 instruments became evident during their first rehearsal. The success of their self-titled debut album, reaching number 2 on the world Billboard Music chart, solidified their unique sound. With subsequent albums like “Memory Lane” and “Friends for Life,” the band expanded their reach, playing sold-out shows in Dublin’s Olympia Theatre and larger venues worldwide, captivating audiences with their energetic performances and fresh take on Irish ballads. They have released several studio albums, live albums, and DVDs, earning a dedicated fan base and international recognition, including performances for President Obama and invitations to prestigious events like the White House St. Patrick’s Day celebration. The High Kings’ journey continues with their ongoing commitment to Irish folk music. Their albums, including “Grace & Glory” and the compilation album “Decade,” have been met with critical acclaim, showcasing their musical prowess and maintaining their position as frontrunners in the genre. Their contributions extend beyond their original compositions, as they were asked to record their own version of the Irish Rugby anthem “Ireland’s Call” and were invited to perform at significant locations such as the Pentagon.
