The New School (TNS) is hosting its inaugural Spring Festival at the school (38 York Street, Kennebunk) on Saturday May 21st from 10am until 2pm. This family friendly event is open to the public. Admission is $10 for adults, and $5 for people 17 years old and younger. Kids (17 and younger) will get in for free if they come with an adult. The Spring Festival will include live music by The Kennebunk River Band, ice cream and donut samples from local businesses, a bounce house, dunk tank, games, races, and a science activity. Attendees will have a chance to vote for their favorite ice cream and favorite donut, and awards will be presented to the two winning local ice cream and donut businesses at the end of the Spring Festival. Additional food items will be offered for sale: Brick oven pizza for $15 per pizza, popcorn for $4 per bag, and drinks for $3. This event is a fundraiser for The New School, as well as an effort by TNS to bring the community together. Ample handicap parking will be reserved in The New School parking lot. TNS parents and students will be providing school tours at 10:30a, 11:30a, 12:30p, and 1:30p. The New School has limited space available for the 2022-2023 school year, so interested high school families are encouraged to take a tour and apply sooner than later. Visit thenewschoolmaine.org for more information. Founded in 2000, The New School is a progressive, independent high school providing a unique, student-driven, democratic learning experience for youth from Southern Maine and New Hampshire.
