he New York and Boston Rivalry have been around since this country was founded, not just in sports, bootleggers, and politics but also on the comedy front. Each city has produced the best comics in the world with different styles. Boston has had amazing rapid-fire comics as Steven Wright, Denis Leary, Jay Leno, Louis C.K., Dane Cook, Bill Burr, Lenny Clarke, Conan OBrien, John Pinette, Doug Stanhope, Robert Kelly, Mike Birbiglia, Gary Gulman, Nick DiPaolo, Mario Cantone, Dana Gould, Don Gavin, and the list continues. New York is the breeding ground for talent, and most comics will spend time there if they want to become famous. Team NY: Kevin Flynn Known as “Dr. Bram Walker” from HBO’s Sex and the City, Madison Ct. native Kevin Flynn has thrilled audiences for years with his stand-up comedy performances. A national headlining comedian, Kevin performs regularly in some of the top clubs in the country. His comedy career took off after winning the Boston Comedy Riot in 1988, where he began appearing on numerous comedy specials. Flynn has also appeared in movies and television shows, including Sex and the City, The Heartbreak Kid, The Greatest Beer Run Ever, Me, Myself and Irene, and Osmosis Jones. Kevin created his one-person show Around the Kitchen Table, which won the “Best of the Fest” at the Boston Comedy Festival and HBO’s prestigious U.S. Comedy Arts Festival in Aspen. Most recently, Flynn has been hosting Plum TV’s Plum Daily Show on Nantucket and is often seen on FOX News, The Strategy Room. Kevin is also the co-founder and executive director of the Nantucket Comedy Festival. Flynn’s unique comedy style and brand of stand-up performance is one show not to be missed. Team Boston: Graig Murphy One of Boston’s best up-and-coming comics and a former WEEI radio personality, Graig is proud to represent Team Boston. Not to mention Graig is a supreme voice impersonator; he is also a comedian based out of New England. Graig got his start on the highly acclaimed Boston-based sports radio station WEEI making various impressions. He has become a headlining comedian in Boston’s amazing comedy scene and a favorite at the Nantucket Comedy Festival. Graig performs nationwide, including Las Vegas and Caroline’s in New York City.
