Join Executive Chef David Turin of David’s Restaurants as he draws inspiration from the much-beloved book (and film) “Like Water for Chocolate” by Laura Esquivel.
Join us as we celebrate Kennebunkport’s “Paint the Town Red” with hands on class & romantic meal.
Chef Turin will demonstrate the techniques required to create a lucisous and romantic menu, including Cornish Hens in Rose Petal Sauce, (cooked in the book by the lovely Tita for her beloved Pedro), Cornish Hen Sausage with Morel Mushrooms, Creamy Polenta and Godiva Truffles. The menu will be paired with sparkling wine samples, and capped off with a red rose for each guest.
Guests will practice hands-on techniques for boning the hens – a skill applicable to all manner of poultry cookery. Guests will leave having prepared their own hen, and will receive a full three course luncheon of the special menu.
This is a hands-on class, suitable for adults 21 years+.
Guests will be handling knives and working with raw meat. Safe food handling techniques will be taught. Guests will be provided with tools and an apron for use during the class.
