Grandma?s Treasure Chest

What happens when we find family treasures? What stories do these pieces tell? What clues do they hold?

Come find out at the inaugural lecture of the Third Thursday Talks hosted at the Brick Store Museum. The lecture, titled “Grandma’s Treasure Chest”, will be given by Certified Genealogist Pam Stone Eagleson. The presentation will focus on ‘Attic Archaeology’, a beginning to all genealogical research. Using example artifacts, Eagleson will discuss ways to research and evaluate family treasures such as jewelry, diaries, bibles, letter, textiles, and ephemera.

This is the first of the Third Thursday Talks, a lecture series which will be given at the Brick Store Museum on the third Thursday of each month at 5:30 pm (with the exception of November and December). Admission to every lecture is free to Museum members, and $10 for general audiences. Snacks and beverages will be served.

“Grandma’s Treasure Chest”, a 90 minute gathering, will get you started on your own family’s story. Participants are encouraged to bring in one item of their own to begin the journey. The lecture is on Thursday, August 20 from 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm.
