Master Gardener Susan White Ahl will teach us how to increase habitat for birds, bees and pollinators to your garden while repelling rodents! She will provide resources and information geared toward the home garden. Yes, bring your questions for what it takes to be a Master Gardener. Susan Ahl is a land-steward and a "do no harm" home gardener, whose happy place is "hands in the dirt". Finding ease and restoration in nature, she strives to create spaces of unfussy abundance and interconnection. She believes nature knows what it's doing, and so follows nature's lead by using native plants, organic practices, and minimal interventions. In 2015, she founded the Pollinator Project, which focuses on teaching others how to increase habitat in their own back yards, one small step at a time. In 2020, she received her Master Gardener Volunteer designation through the University of Maine Cooperative Extension. She is no expert, but finds joy in encouraging others to discover or engage with the beauty and blessings of gardening by sharing her experiences and the resources she's discovered along the way. Susan lives and gardens in Southern Maine and loves when her neighbors call her "the flower lady".
