Cotton and Cod were what built the economy of New England, and Kennebunk was a part of that story. Ships built in our shipyards sailed south to bring cotton to Biddeford’s mills, and fishermen sailed to the Grand Banks to harvest astonishing numbers of cod. The two commodities were intertwined with each other and with our history. Monica Grabin will tell this story through story and song, in a Singing Historyperformance at the Brick Store Museum at 7 p.m. on Friday, June 17th, as part of the Launch! festivities sponsored by the Kennebunk Chamber of Commerce. An accomplished musician and educator, Monica’s concerts are always informative, interactive, and a lot of fun.
