TITLE: Pastry Assistant

JOB TYPE: Part time, seasonal (May-December)

HOURS: 20-25 hours per week, flexible shifts

PAY RATE: Starting at $20 per hour, adjusted based on experience

ABOUT THE JOB:

  • Prepare baked goods (pastries, breads, cookies, cakes, etc.) according to the recipes provided
  • Prepare and plate a la carte desserts to order
  • Assemble dessert displays for functions, as ordered
  • Adhere to proper sanitation, food handling/storage/preparation, and hand washing guidelines
  • Manage time efficiently throughout business fluctuations to ensure consistent, high-standard product
  • Receive, distribute and organize incoming deliveries in a time-sensitive manner
  • Additional tasks as assigned by Pastry Chef or Executive Chef, to include help with staff meals and banquet functions when necessary

 

ABOUT YOU:

  • Previous experience in a bakery, restaurant, or hotel kitchen
  • Confident working independently and able to follow written instructions
  • Ability to clean station at the beginning, during, and closing of scheduled shift
  • Success with handling multiple tasks with attention to detail
  • Confident asking for help when necessary
  • Aptitude for learning new skills
  • Communicates politely with coworkers and treats other with respect
