About Us

Vinegar Hill Music Theatre is a unique and vibrant entertainment venue, located just off Route 1 in Arundel. Formerly the Arundel Barn Playhouse, Vinegar Hill hosts an array of local, national, and international talent each season providing inspired entertainment for all ages. Past musical guests include Linda Eder, Ronan Tynan, George Winston, Jim Messina, Larry Gatlin, The Platters, Martin Sexton, The Doo Wop Project, and Well-Strung. Comedy guests include Juston McKinney, Caroline Rhea, and Bobcat Goldthwait and special performances include Mike Super, Recycled Percussion, and Miss Richfield 1981. Community events like the Fall Festival, Sunday Chill at the Hill, and a Fall Saturday Garden Series are free and family-friendly.

Vinegar Hill supports its community by hosting fundraisers benefiting organizations such as the Barbara Bush Literacy Foundation for Family Literacy, Maine Medical Center, Seeds of Peace, and the Maine Cancer Foundation. Each year, a number of events also raise funds to support youth pursuing performing arts via the Vinegar Hill Youth Theatre Scholarship Fund. New outdoor programming was introduced in 2021 after a dark 2020 season. Visitors can enjoy outdoor concerts and summer classic movies on the big screen, with wellness events and learning workshops on deck for 2022.

Vinegar Hill is also an elegantly rustic space for special occasions and events be it a wedding, wedding-related events, corporate gathering and more. Vinegar Hill Music Theatre is proud be a part of the tradition of summer theatre excellence in Maine.
