The beginning…
The Market started in 2012 as a Tuesday Night Market at 51 Main Street at the site of the previous Mobil station. That year we had 20 applicants that included crafters, bakers, candle makers, fresh produce, chair massages, a food truck and several non-profits. In early 2014 the Kennebunk Community Market moved to the recently vacated Garden Street Market parking lot to share space with the Farmers’ Market while the Waterhouse Center was being built. We were allowed (and filled) 10 spaces. The Waterhouse Center has been our home since 2015 and is now called the Kennebunk Artisans Marketplace.
Every year we receive more and more applications as our Marketplace gains in popularity, for both the crafters and the patrons who come see us. We have filled our space so much so, that now we are offering spaces for tent set-up around the outside rink area. Please come visit us on Saturdays from 10a-3p, starting Memorial Day weekend through the first Saturday of October and see for yourself what we’re all about.
