Sunday Chill Series: Emma Stanley

Called an “incredible horn player” with “perfect sound” by MaineToday, and a “local horn virtuoso” by the Bangor Daily News, Emma Stanley is a soulful, seasoned performer on trumpet, piano, and voice. Based in Portland, Maine, Emma plays locally and regionally as a solo artist and with multiple groups, currently including Gina & The Red Eye Flight Crew, The Fogcutters, Native Isles, and OC and the Offbeats.
Throughout her vast experiences touring nationally and internationally (most recently with Jesus Christ Superstar) and performing with world class acts (such as DIVA Jazz Orchestra, Guster, The Manhattan Transfer, Cyril Neville of the Meters, and John Popper of Blues Traveler) she has developed her own unique sound and style over the years. In her original project, backed by some of Maine’s finest musicians, she draws from influences such as Roy Hargrove, Erykah Badu, Olivia Dean, and Jennifer Hartswick to create a clashing of genres, walking the line between jazz, pop, funk and fusion producing a sound that is distinctly her own.
