restorative yoga teacher training: cultivating deep healing and relaxation
are you passionate about the healing power of yoga and eager to share its benefits with others? our restorative yoga teacher training is designed to guide you through the art of teaching deeply restorative, calming practices that promote relaxation, stress relief, and emotional healing. this training will empower you to create safe, nurturing spaces for your students to experience profound restoration through gentle postures, breathwork, and mindfulness.
what you will learn:
restorative yoga philosophy and principles: explore the core philosophy behind restorative yoga, which emphasizes relaxation, slowing down, and returning to a state of balance. learn the principles of Yin and Yang energy, the nervous system’s role in stress, and how restorative practices help restore equilibrium in the body and mind.
asana & sequencing for deep relaxation: master the art of teaching restorative poses using props such as blankets, bolsters, blocks, and straps. learn how to guide students into long-held postures that support deep relaxation, release tension, and open the body. you’ll also learn how to sequence classes that balance the physical, emotional, and mental aspects of healing.
anatomy and the nervous system: dive into the anatomy of the body, focusing on the muscles, joints, and connective tissues most involved in restorative postures. explore the science of the nervous system and its response to stress, including how restorative yoga helps activate the parasympathetic nervous system (rest and digest), facilitating healing.
breathwork and meditation: learn techniques to incorporate breathwork and meditation into restorative classes to deepen the relaxation response. you'll explore different breathing techniques (such as diaphragmatic and ujjayi breath) and mindful meditation practices that help bring awareness and stillness to the mind.
hands-on adjustments and energy work: gain skills in offering gentle adjustments that enhance relaxation and comfort during postures. you’ll also explore how to offer safe and effective hands-on support, both physically and energetically, to students in need of healing.
creating a restorative yoga class: learn how to build an effective and healing restorative yoga class, from setting the tone and intention to guiding students into each pose. understand how to create an atmosphere that promotes trust, comfort, and openness, and how to use language and presence to support students' emotional journeys.
