He produced three albums for Poco before venturing into a successful partnership with Kenny Loggins. In 1971\, Messina produced Loggins' album and suggested collaborating as a duo. The duo released a series of albums\, including the self-titled "Loggins & Messina\," becoming one of the most successful recording duos of the era. After parting ways with Loggins\, Messina pursued a solo career\, releasing critically acclaimed albums. Throughout his career\, Messina remained dedicated to music and continued performing.
