DESCRIPTION:BikeMaine is a fully-supported\, seven day cycling tour held in mid-September\, the prime time to cycle in New England. Cyclists will arrive Friday afternoon\, enjoy local activities\, dine at the Waterhouse Center and enjoy evening entertainment. All in the community are welcome to partake in the evening entertainment! Cyclists will camp under the stars at a local park Friday evening and leave the next day. Cyclists pedal an average of 55 miles per day along moderately challenging terrain on uncrowded\, safe and quiet roadways\, through small towns rich in local culture. Take in an impressive range of scenery\, from Maine's rocky coastline\, dotted with lighthouses and lobster boats\, to pristine mountains and lakes. Enjoy locally-sourced foods like Maine seafood and fresh-from-the-farm produce at every meal.
