On Friday\, December 14\, at 7 pm\, Christ Church is thrilled and proud to present in concert the St. Petersburg Men's Ensemble\, a highly polished a capella quartet who will be presenting a varied program ranging from traditional Russian music to popular Christmas songs. Highly trained vocalists Kirill Sokolov\, Sergey Shapinsky\, Andrei Volikov\, and Vadim Smantser\, liturgical cantors in the Russian Orthodox Church\, formed the group in 2003 to expand the known limits of vocal music. With just four performers\, they present complex works generally performed by much larger groups. Their repertoire encompasses various epochs and styles\, from ancient Russian chants to Western European chorales to contemporary compositions\, along with Russian folk songs\, and secular and religious music.
